Today I read an article that recorded early Weibo posts by Zhang Yiming, sharing his thoughts and viewpoints, which are now hardly seen.

Zhang Yiming did something like this: he read all of Ma Huateng's Weibo posts.

We usually receive a lot of information, such as reading various articles, news, and others' social media posts, which all become fragmented information. There is an overwhelming amount of fragmented information, and many people organize and output how to utilize this fragmented information. Some also discuss how to incorporate fragmented information into their knowledge systems.

We often have various thoughts, many of which flash by, but we do not record them. A friend suggested I use Flomo to take notes, and after using it for a while, I found it quite good. However, when I looked back at the fragmented information I recorded, it was all very scattered and not very meaningful.

So how can we make this more meaningful?

Keywords

After recording for a while, I found that such records were completely meaningless. First, I extract keywords from this fragmented information. For example, I recently read an article by Teacher Liu Run discussing the difficulty of making money, so I would note down a few keywords from it, such as basic skills and long-termism. This way, when I see these words later, I can refer back to my knowledge base (Notion) to retrieve that article.

Notes

This is something I thought of after reading Zhang Yiming's Weibo. Since he can share his thoughts on Weibo, why can't I? After consuming some information, I have some thoughts in my mind, so I directly wrote a micro post and published it on Toutiao. For example, when I saw Zhang Yiming mention "How to Read a Book," I thought of the following:

There is a sentence in the article that left a deep impression on me: he is also reading "How to Read a Book." You may not be able to attend various high-end courses, but the information you receive from books is the same as theirs, and the cost is very low. So by persisting in reading, you will find that many of their thoughts and viewpoints are influenced by these books, and they have achieved results through these methods. If you also make similar decisions based on these books, isn't it highly likely that you will achieve results too?

Of course, some may ask, why not post on social media? I cherish the exposure opportunities on social media. Currently, I feel that my understanding is not sufficient to express my viewpoints clearly through brief descriptions, which can easily lead to misunderstandings.

Organization

I regularly categorize this information based on keywords into major categories, such as personal growth, investment, products, business, making money, etc. When there is more content later, I will consider establishing a classification directory called "Dao, Fa, Shu, Qi." Let me explain what these are; they are actually part of Chinese philosophy, specifically Daoist culture.

For example, let's take a very popular case from a few days ago, where Ant Yahaik made 40,000 in three days. Here, how can we map this case to the above?

Output

After processing a large amount of information, we need to turn this information into our own nourishment. At this point, we should use the Feynman learning method (not going into detail here, I have written about it before) to teach what we know (or think we know) to another person. My approach is to write it into an article.

By strengthening my output in the form of articles and sharing them, many wonderful friends provide feedback based on my content, further enhancing my understanding of that knowledge.

Review

Finally, we need to review our content, identify areas for improvement, and optimize in the next process, constantly examining whether we have grown. Ultimately, we can all become the people we want to be. Our fragmented information will also piece together into a part of our knowledge base, providing critical references for our future decisions.
