"What to Do When Emotions Arise?"

We constantly experience emotions. Many people say that when an emotion arises, if it is not useful to you, you should try to set it aside and revisit it later. There is nothing wrong with this statement; I might even advise others in this way during our conversations.

However, we often overlook a key issue: when the emotional brain > rational brain, we cannot make the aforementioned decisions. This is why, as third parties, we can propose seemingly reasonable suggestions, but they may not hold much significance for the person involved.

So when emotions arise, we need a means of venting. Currently, I have three main methods; they may not suit you, but you can give them a try.

**Recording**

For instance, I now use Flomo to record my feelings, tagging them with "emotional bomb." When we express what we want to vent through recording, it serves as a form of release.

Last night, I suddenly received news that my morning flight was canceled, which left me feeling particularly devastated. I had been trying to adjust recently, and suddenly I felt so unlucky, leading to a surge of emotions. I also felt bad for having canceled on a friend last time due to a wrong flight booking, and now this flight was canceled again.

The more I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt. So, I recorded some of my various negative emotions. When I read what I had written, I realized it was actually a trivial matter. I rebooked the earliest high-speed train, adjusted the appointment time with my driver, rested on the train, and informed my friend about my arrival time. The issue was resolved.

When we have emotions, we must not think that our rational brain can overcome our emotional brain. At this moment, it is not about letting go of emotions but finding a suitable way to vent them. I believe recording is a good method; when we write, it acts as a release, and when we read it, we can view our emotions from an external perspective.

**Exercise**

Of course, many times, even if we write a lot, we still cannot find release. At this point, we should not worry about what our brain is thinking; instead, we should tire our bodies out. For exercise, I prefer running, especially on the road.

At this moment, we have already fallen into a negative emotional state, and we should not expect to break free using our existing willpower.

Moreover, exercising can release a substance called endorphins, which can change all negative emotions, alter self-perception, and promote a positive outlook, even affecting one's appearance.

The happiness brought by endorphins is the most lasting, genuine, and meaningful. When the body is exhausted, it can also promote our sleep, and when we wake up the next day, our emotions may have dissipated.

**Reading**

Generally, this involves reading books. You can see that each author has their own different viewpoints and suggestions on the same issue, allowing you to reassess yourself from multiple angles. However, sometimes we may find it hard to concentrate; in such cases, you can try listening to audiobooks. But sometimes, even listening may not be effective.

At this point, I would look for some videos on YouTube, such as TED talks or videos from creators I find interesting. However, I later realized that this motivation doesn't always yield results. I then developed a particular interest in interview programs, discovering that the life experiences of others are truly worth learning from.

Especially those in the spotlight, we usually only see their good sides, but we cannot see their flaws. Interview programs allow me to hear about the experiences of others in handling similar situations. Although it may not be applicable to you, it holds significant reference value.

Recently, I watched many interviews with Peng Yuyan. He has always been portrayed as a tough, sunny, disciplined, and passionate person. However, he is not like that in real life; when he is not filming, he is just like us ordinary people, enjoying relaxation. So, he found a suitable way for himself, using these positive roles to push himself to become that kind of person.

Moreover, he is not inherently an optimistic or enthusiastic person, but through long-term role-playing, he gradually developed these habits and could continuously portray inspirational characters to motivate himself.

**Finally**

Everyone has their own suitable methods. Even the methods I mentioned above may not immediately resolve emotional issues. But do emotional problems need to be solved immediately? Not necessarily. Many people feel the need to solve problems right away, but emotional issues cannot be resolved from an idealistic perspective.

So even if we know we are feeling terrible, emotionally low, particularly confused, and anxious, we must keep moving forward. As long as we keep progressing, when you get through that phase, you may find that the problems have naturally disappeared.

**Recommendations:**

Blockchain: What is decentralization? What is a fork?

Those impressive people are actually ordinary individuals.

Cherishing the present is the most important thing.

The consensus of foolishness, even lacking the qualification to be cut.
